Welcome to After 3! The Winter Session is underway!
Learning Opportunities Beyond The School Day After 3 is an opportunity for your child to be engaged in unique learning and growing experiences after school and on selected Saturdays. Register your child for a specific class that meets weekly across a session or in Activity Power Hour, where those enrolled have the opportunity to choose their preferred activity for the day like Newman Summer Day Camp. Activities include visual arts, sports, technology, performing arts, camp games, and more. Experienced Staff The staff includes many Newman faculty members and Newman Summer instructors who lead classes, group activities and private music lessons. Counselor support is provided by carefully selected college students, graduate students, and professionals. Flexible Enrollment Available Monday through Friday throughout the school year, 3:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Register your child by the session (Fall, Winter, Spring) or as a “Drop-In” at an hourly rate any day.

Scholastic Chess | Beginners’
Open to Newman students only Students will be introduced to the game of Chess, and learn all of the rules about the ancient game, including etiquette, sportsmanship, and the joy of learning. Students will gradually acquire basic competence in chess through learning the characteristics of each piece, basic cornerstone fundamentals, and by learning and practicing basic tactics. The class period will be structured as a mix of direct lecture and demonstration, and ample hands-on practice. This class section is for beginners who perhaps have no previous experience or background in Chess, who are in second grade or younger, or who are older but need some orientation in the basics before going on to the higher section.
Time: 3:00 - 4:15 p.m. Day: Monday Grades: K - 5 Fee: $310 Includes the ability to stay in After 3 from 3:00 until 5:30 p.m. on the day of class.
