Sketchbook 2.0 provides third, fourth and fifth grade students with the opportunity to explore sketchbook techniques used by studio artists. The course will ultimately develop beneficial artistic habits that will supplement their weekly art class. Students must bring their sketchbook to this class every week and will have a mixed media experience while exploring concepts that will enhance their artistic expression for years to come. We will be looking at various artists’ sketchbooks and use the book "Drawing Lab, for Mixed Media Artists" by Carla Sonheim as a reference point. Third graders who register will be required to purchase a sketchbook for the class.
