WELCOME TO AFTER 3
Learning Opportunities Beyond The School Day After 3 is an opportunity for your child to be engaged in unique learning and growing experiences after school and on selected Saturdays. Register your child for a specific class that meets weekly across a session or in Activity Power Hour, where those enrolled have the opportunity to choose their preferred activity for the day like Newman Summer Day Camp. Activities include visual arts, sports, technology, performing arts, camp games, and more. Experienced Staff The staff includes many Newman faculty members and Newman Summer instructors who lead classes, group activities and private music lessons. Counselor support is provided by carefully selected college students, graduate students, and professionals. Flexible Enrollment Available Monday through Friday throughout the school year, 3:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Register your child by the session (Fall, Winter, Spring) or as a “Drop-In” at an hourly rate any day.

Open to Newman students only
Karate is a Japanese martial arts that requires discipline and concentration. In this class students will learn basic punching, kicking, and blocking techniques. Classes will consist of technique (kihon), forms (kata), and partner work (kumite). After certain progress, students will have to opportunity to test for higher rank and compete in tournaments. Uniforms (gi) are recommended but not required.
Instructor Dimitri Papadopoulos is a 5th degred black belt of the Japan Karate Association, and will be representing the US National Team this October at the World Championships in Tokyo, Japan. Enrollment in this class also offers the optional purchase of a karate uniform for $25.
Time: 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. Day: Friday Grades: 1 - 5 Fee: $264 Includes the ability to stay in After 3 from 3:00 until 5:30 p.m. on the day of class.
